I've had a Tom Tom and a Navman and was very disappointed with the quality and service from both companies. A better solution for us was to buy a dedicated GPS app for smart phones at a fraction of the cost of a GPS, with automatic updates as well. From the comments I've just read, think I'll give Navman a big swerve.
At the time we bought maps for the whole globe for about and the software was a whole lot better than the stand alone GPS. I have a Sony Xperia z3 compact, which was good for navigating for the first six months of use.
PLEASE NOTE: Map Unlock Keys can only be used and activated on one Navman compatible GPS device at a given time.
It cannot be transferred to another Navman GPS device.
As roads and the reference points along the way change, a GPS unit is only as good as its data.
Keeping your GPS maps updated is critical to ensuring that your device's directions are accurate and useful.
It is only applicable for this specific Navman product, until (a) the end of that product’s useful life, being the date on which the product is no longer serviceable or supported by Navman, or (b) Navman no longer receives map data from its third party supplier, whichever is shorter.
Browse through the different device tables and locate the heading for your device model and the row for the map region you want to update, such as Eastern Europe, Australia or North America.
Click on the link next to the appropriate updated map to download it.
Also make sure that your GPS device is fully charged.
Open a Web browser and navigate to Navman's map update page (see Resources).
